Courier Services

As a paintings and preventive conservator, I offer professional courier services to ensure the safe transport of paintings from one collection or exhibition to another. I personally oversee the packing, transit, and unpacking process to ensure that all paintings involved are handled with the utmost care.

I also conduct thorough condition assessments before and after transportation to ensure your painting(s) arrive(s) safely and remain(s) in optimal condition. If damage occurs during transport due to unpreventable issues (natural disasters, traffic incidents, vandalism, etc.), I will either recommend next steps or conduct emergency treatment on-site.

Why work with a courier?

Having a conservator accompany paintings or exhibitions during travel ensures expert care from start to finish. With their deep understanding of an artwork's materials, conservators oversee proper handling, monitor the painting's condition, and ensure the right environmental conditions throughout transit. If any issues arise, they're equipped to handle them immediately, giving both institutions and collectors peace of mind that their pieces are in the best hands.

  • Conservators have specialized knowledge of the materials and vulnerabilities of artworks. Their expertise ensures that the painting is handled properly during all stages of transportation, from packing and crating to installation at the destination.

  • A conservator can conduct detailed condition assessments before and after transit, allowing for immediate detection of any changes or potential damage. This helps maintain an accurate record of the artwork’s condition throughout its journey.

  • Conservators make recommendations to ensure that environmental conditions (e.g., temperature, humidity) are appropriate during transport and at the exhibition site. Proper environmental controls are critical in preventing deterioration or damage to sensitive artworks.

  • Should any unforeseen issues arise, such as damage during transit or improper handling, a conservator is equipped to address these problems immediately, minimizing potential harm to the artwork.

  • Having a conservator accompany a painting provides reassurance to museums, galleries, and private collectors that their valuable artworks are receiving the highest level of care throughout the transportation and exhibition process.
